2. Data We Collect
- Identity and contact details (first name, last name, email address, phone number).
- Information needed to handle your enquiries and table bookings.
- If you create an account: a password, stored in encrypted form and never readable by our staff.
3. Purposes
- Answering your enquiries and managing bookings and events.
- Confirming your table by email and text message.
- Improving the user experience and the quality of our service.
- Preventing misuse, in particular no-show bookings that tie up tables to the detriment of other customers.
- Meeting applicable legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases
- Performance of a contract or of pre-contractual measures.
- Legitimate interest (service quality, site security, prevention of no-show bookings).
- Legal obligations.
5. Recipients
Your data is accessible to the Le Grand Comptoir team and to the service providers required to operate the
service: our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and OVH for sending booking confirmation text
messages. These third parties act on our instructions and are bound to respect the confidentiality and
security of the data. Your data is never sold, rented or transferred for advertising purposes.
6. Retention Periods
- Customer account: kept for as long as the account exists, then deleted at your request (see section 7).
- Booking history: kept for 3 years from your most recent booking.
- Contact enquiries: kept for as long as needed to handle them, then archived in accordance with legal obligations.
7. Customer Account, Mobile App and Deletion
The website and the Le Grand Comptoir mobile app (Android and iOS) share the same customer account.
An account can be created when you make a booking, if you ask for one. It stores your details for your next
bookings and lets you view, change or cancel them yourself.
The mobile app collects no location data, displays no advertising and embeds no third-party advertising or
analytics tracker. It only transmits the information you enter yourself in order to book: first name, last
name, email address, phone number and, where applicable, your message.
You can delete your account at any time:
- in the app, under My account › Delete my account (deleted immediately);
- without the app, from the
Delete my account
page (processed within 30 days at the latest, once your identity has been verified).
What deletion erases: your login credentials and your customer record (first name, last
name, email address, phone number). You can no longer sign in.
What is kept despite deletion: your booking history, including the contact details you
provided with each booking, until the end of the period stated in section 6. This record is necessary for the
venue to identify no-show bookings and limit tables being held unnecessarily; this retention relies on our
legitimate interest in preventing misuse. You may object to this processing on grounds relating to your
particular situation by writing to
contact@le-grand-comptoir.fr.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and, where applicable, port your personal data.
To exercise these rights, please use our contact form.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL
(www.cnil.fr).

The mobile app does not use cookies.
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Traffic between the app,
the website and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS), and the credentials stored on your phone are held in the
system's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android).

This policy may be updated. Any changes will be published on this page.
